REDEFINING EUROPEAN BOOT MANUFACTURING

NEXBOOT is a collaborative innovation project developed by Aloft, EPAFLEX Polyurethanes and GGS Moulds with the ambition of rethinking how injection-moulded boots are produced in Europe.

By combining expertise in materials engineering, mould development and advanced injection technologies, the project led to the successful development of one of Europe's first fully injection-moulded boots manufactured from stabilized TPU.
 

The result is a durable, high-quality and fully recyclable product that demonstrates how innovation and industrial collaboration can create new opportunities for the footwear industry.

WHY TPU?

Resistance that lasts for years. TPU surpasses PVC and SEBS in abrasion and wear resistance, with UV stabilizatin that prevents yellowing and surface handling.

Performs in any condition. Maintains flexibility down to -40ºC and resists oils, greases, hydrocarbons and solvents - designed for demanding agricultural, industrial and outdoor use.

Comfort that lasts. Superior metallurgy recovery and configurable hardness, without plasticizers that migrate and resist the boot over time.

It doesn't end up in the trash. TPU is 100% recyclable: it can be grinded and reprocessed without degradation, closing the product's life cycle instead of wasting it.

A PARTNERSHIP BUILT ON EXPERTISE

This wellington boot wasn't born in a single factory. It was born from the convergence of three expertises: the material, the mould, and the injection process. It was this close collaboration that, from day one, made possible what for years was only an unfulfilled promise - a wellington boot made entirely of TPU.

Aloft. A bet made years before the marketing justified it, and which today places us at the forefront of this new product category. The fleet of injection moulding machines prepared to process TPU into complex footwear geometries.

GGS Moulds. The design and execution of injection moulds, with high-precision geometries capable of meeting the demands of TPU - controlled shrinkage, optimized injection channels, and finishes compatible with laser engraving.

Epaflex. TPU formulations developed specifically for this specification. Epaflex developed the Epalite series - a range of TPU designed from the ground up for high-end footwear. It is Epalite that makes everything else possible. It is a material that is up to 15% lighter than conventional TPU, without costly technological adjustments and with reduced moulding cycle times.
